Welcoming Home a New Family at 223 Wilson Street
The sun was shining as we welcomed friends, family, volunteers, and donors to celebrate another deserving family's brand-new Habitat home in Kingston, ON.
A key ceremony is the culmination of months, sometimes years, of hard work. And, as Habitat Kingston's CEO Gary Lees said, "It's what we do this for." The moment we can hand the keys to a deserving family to start the next chapter of their lives in a home that they own.
We are so pleased to give Taylor, Vaughan, and their 18-month-old son Jonathan the chance to put down roots in the town they call home. A place where Jonathan can grow up close to family and friends and with a backyard of his very own.
This change of address represents more than just a new set of walls. It is an opportunity for a young family to create a lasting impact on the community they are a part of. Taylor and Vaughan emphasized their desire to pay it forward and to help more families reach their goal of homeownership, embodying the Habitat values and our desire to build not just homes but communities.
