The Habitat ReStore, can issue tax receipts for donations upon request. The
amount will reflect fair market value based on the resale value of the item(s) donated.

From time to time areas of the ReStore may be
filled
and as a result we are temporarily unable to accept some items.
Customers should always call first to find out what we are taking
and what we are not able to take.

Donation Criteria
Please keep in mind that the items below are just typical of what we are
able to accept.

We are sometimes unable to take items because of our limited space, the
amount of similar items we have in stock, or the condition of the
item. |

Cabinets
-
All cabinets must come with all doors and drawers.

Solid wood cabinets are almost always acceptable
-
Plywood and plywood/solid wood cabinets are acceptable at staff
discretion based upon condition
-
Cabinet doors in mint condition
-
Pressboard cabinets must be in mint condition and must have staff
approval based upon visual inspection
-
We are not able to accept laminate or tiled countertops at this time
Flooring & Tile
We accept only new linoleum in excellent
condition. This usually includes remnants and overstock, no salvage.
Linoleum must be at least 6x10
Rolled flooring must be free of holes & cutouts
Please help us out by measuring and marking the roll if possible
Solid wood flooring must be free of nails and be a minimum of 3' peices
Pergo style flooring must be new or in excellent shape and be at least
25 sq'
Vinyl tile must be in full boxes and unused
Tile must be free of glue and grout
Sheet tiles and older tiles are welcome in any amount.
Newer tiles must be a full box at least
Grout and adhesives must be full unused containers

Items that we're never able to take
- Appliances
- Furniture
- Carpet
- Used chemicals or paint, paint that has
been frozen
- Any device or instrument containing
mercury
- Any material containing asbestos
- Used plumbing PVC
- Used or older florescent bulbs
- Aluminum windows
- Blown in or used insulation
- Computers or electronic equipment
- Used tub or shower door units
Items which we are currently unable to take
- Used fiberglass tubs
- Window treatments and vertical blinds
- Coloured bathroom fixtures (tubs,
toilets, sinks)
If you wish to donate an unusual item which is not on the
above list or if you need to schedule a pick-up, please do not
hesitate to contact us

Doors & Windows
-
All doors that are new surplus or misorders are
acceptable
-
New, boxed, bifolds, and hollow cores with jamb are acceptable
-
All doors must be free of rot, panel cracks, splits, or structural
damage.
-
Sliding closet doors with mirrors and hardware will be considered
-
Shower doors must be new or if used must be clean and have all track and
hardware
-
We are not accepting vertical blinds or window treatments at this time.
-
We cannot accept large picture
windows.
Electrical & Lighting
-
New and surplus supplies are acceptable
-
Used electric supplies must be approved by staff
-
Odd colors and styles [ie pink elephant switch plates] are usually not
accepted
-
All supplies and equipment must meet current building codes
Hardware, Tools & Equipment
-
Knobs, hinges, locks, cabinet pulls
-
Nuts, bolts, nails, screws, preferably sorted
-
No rusty hardware, and please, no buckets of old rusty parts
-
Most tools & equipment that are working and in reasonable condition will
be accepted
-
Electric tools with missing parts, cords, batteries, or chargers are not
acceptable
-
Larger pieces of equipment must be approved by our
staff
Lumber & Building Materials
-
New surplus wood of any kind is acceptable
-
Used lumber must be completely free of rot, mold, and insect damage
-
All lumber must be at least 6' in length and be free of nails
-
Heavily painted lumber may not be accepted and requires staff inspection
-
Sheet goods must be at least a half sheet in either direction and be
free of mold and rot or other damage
-
We are unable to accept used 1/8" paneling
Insulation must be new and bagged, preferably in original bags
-
No used insulation, no blown in insulation
-
Roofing materials must be new surplus and be in good condition
-
Used vinyl siding is not accepted
-
New vinyl siding must be boxed
-
No used siding shingle
Masonry, Stone
-
New brick, concrete block, pier block, and pavers are
acceptable
-
Used masonry and stone must be whole pieces, free of mortar epoxy, etc
-
Drop-offs of large amounts of such items must be scheduled with our
staff
-
Bags of mortar and such must be full bags and in original package.
Please duct tape any rips or tears
Lawn & Garden
-
Lawn and garden tools are accepted if in working order
and reasonable free of rust.
-
No tools or equipment with missing parts or pieces
-
Garden objects and architectural pieces are accepted with staff
inspection and approval
-
Wrought iron fencing, gates, and other decorative metal fencing is
usually acceptable
-
Wood fencing must be in very good condition and be free of heavily
peeling paint or rot
-
Fence posts must be at least 8', no cut-offs
Plumbing & Bath Fixtures
-
All cast iron enameled sinks and stainless steel sinks
are acceptable
-
We are currently not accepting cast iron tubs although
we DO accept clawfoot tubs
We are unable to accept used fibreglass tubs or showers
-
Ceramic sinks must be clean and free of scratches, chips and cracks
-
Toilets must be low flush [1.6 GPF], be well cleaned, and free of chips
and cracks
-
We accept all metal plumbing parts or supplies
No used plastic or pvc pipe or parts
-
Shower doors only if new and in box. No used ones please.
Furniture
Paint, Wallpaper & Chemicals
-
Full paint cans only, please, never frozen
-
All paints & chemicals must be in original containers with labels intact
-
No flammables such as gasoline, kerosene, etc
-
Wallpaper must be in full roll
