Build 2007
'Pre-Scaping'

Individual Volunteers -
Days One & Two

 & the HFHK Team

One of the jobs Monday was to move the
lake of 'self-leveling' gravel - yet again -
The multi-use material is now providing a base
for the walkway from the front of the house to the back deck.
REDUCE - REUSE - RECYCLE!!

On the other side of the house, Marlene and Emily painstakingly
rake the ground to get exactly the right drainage angle.

Marlene (White T , 20-something) "I give up. Who can compete with youth?" ;-)
Emily, Navy T, is one of our youngest volunteers at 17.
Both ladies did an excellent job levelling the swale.

The CorCan team worked away quietly, putting the finishing touches on the drywall mudding.

But in the back yard, a storm was brewing ...

Holes were being dug for the deck supports.
The task was tough because rocks kept getting in the way.
But the crew was tougher ...

Hard work often leads to friendly rivalry ...
.

"You're On!!!"
"Betcha we can dig deeper!"
It's all in the technique!
