Fun, silent auction and the rumour
of Santa and the Elves!!

Each December dozens of H4H elves gather in teams over tiny pestles and sweet mortar to construct something unique.  The results are displayed with much hoopla, including a colouring contest, cookie decorating and a visit from Santa and his elves. Spectators sip hot chocolate as they wander around trying to decide their favourite gingerbread house.

Each house consists of six 16” by 16” pieces of gingerbread, which are provided to teams by Bread & Butter Bakery with their entry fee of $250.

From there, the creativity of the groups takes over! Groups or companies can enter and build their own house, or they can elect to sponsor a house but have other teams build it for them.

While the primary purpose is to support Habitat Kingston, teams are also competing for the coveted “Gingerbread Hammer Award” and the “People’s Choice Award”.

Admission is free, but donations are appreciated. Funds are raised through entry fees, the silent auction, and donations from the community. All proceeds go towards Habitat Kingston Builds.
